"everything happens for a reason"

 

Hi lovelies!! Recently in my religion class, we were asked questions about belief and existential stuff and then discussed them as a class. One of the branches that we started talking about was if everything happens for a reason. I disagree, and do not think it's very fair to say.If you asked me maybe even a month ago, I would probably say yes. Not in a religious way, in a philosophical optimistic way. But recently I've begun to think that's quite a selfish outlook on it. What about the innocent children in Palestine, Sudan, Congo etc? What about people who die before they get a chance to LIVE? 

I'm not trying to say that believing everything happens for a reason is selfish, i'm saying if you look at it from a wider standpoint and a global viewpoint you can't justify everything. I also find it insensitive when people say that it happened for a reason when talking about someone's death. Just not the right timing at all.
